We are a locally owned and operated business, established in 1980, specializing in furniture stripping, refinishing, repair and restoration. Whether you own a precious antique or it's grandma's heirloom in need of some TLC, we can help. Or maybe you have just acquired an unfinished piece of new furniture and would like to custom color it to match your existing furniture, we can be of service. No matter if the job requires a small repair on only one item or if you are looking to have an entire office suite redone, we are able to accommodate your needs.
STRIPPING and REFINISHING: Did years of wear and tear leave your treasure with unsightly scratches, burns or watermarks? Or do you just want to change the color or go shabby-chic? Our finishing experts can match most colors, sheens and finishing techniques. Wood, however, is a living medium. Due to its genetic makeup and oil content the color you are requesting might look slightly different or will have to be altered altogether. We invite you to visit us in our shop and have our knowledgeable finishers work personally with you to help you choose a stain or color that will best bring out the natural beauty of your furniture piece.
We utilize environmentally friendly products such as low VOC oil stains, low solvent VOC lacquers, and water-based stains and finishes. We are always EPA and Clean Air Act compliant.
REPAIR: Does your chair move from side to side even though it is not a rocking chair? Or even worse, did the entire leg break off? Is the veneer on your dresser chipped, peeling off or warped, or did your dog mistakingly use the feet on your dining table as a chewing bone? We provide exquisite workmanship with extensive knowledge on how to repair your well-loved furniture to give it a second chance on life. If you are missing pieces altogether we are able to recreate most shapes and sizes after carefully matching the wood itself.
RESTORING: Has your furniture sustained fire, smoke or water damage? Our dedicated professionals will provide you with the solution you need to save your belongings. Upon request we gladly work directly with your insurance company to keep your inconvenience to a minimum.
We invite you to take a look around our site to learn more about what we can offer. We are happy to provide you with an estimate for the work that you would like to have done. If you cannot bring your piece into our shop we invite you to e-mail your photos to us at Oldfriendsfurniture@gmail.com or you may call us with your questions at (360) 604-8565.
Great place -- Great skills sometimes take time... 5 Stars ***** by Eloise, Sifton, WA 98682:
These are artisans that are keepers of the lost arts! I have used Old Friends Furniture for probably 20 years! I have one set of antique, hand carved dining chairs that most -- one at time -- have failed. Their work is so good you cannot even tell which chair has been repaired. I have a cabinet that my great grandfather built, that had been painted and thrown in the back of a garage -- the glass was broken, the hinge was broken (on one door) and the lock did not line up. They stripped it, they replaced the glass (with matching glass) and they repaired the hinge and lock -- though they did not have to be replaced. -- We Love them! (don't be in a rush).
